The Fight for Racial Justice
Begins With Birth Justice

In the Bay Area, Black babies are 2–3 times more likely to be born too early, too small, or not at all.

Black mothers, babies and families deserve to be healthy, safe and supported throughout their birth journey and their lives. Yet, all too often, racism is harming Black families' ability to have safe and healthy pregnancies and births. In response to this crisis, five Bay Area counties — Alameda, Contra Costa, Santa Clara, San Francisco, and Solano — have joined forces to launch #DeliverBirthJustice. This campaign aims to mobilize all corners of the Bay Area  — from health professionals to policy makers to community members — to end racism and birth justice for Black families.
